Matthew Boos
General Manager

Matthew Boos is General Manager of Ponderosa Telephone along with its affiliate companies, Ponderosa Cablevision, Ponderosa Internet and Ponderosa Long Distance. Boos joined Ponderosa in O’Neals, CA as Financial Director in 1989 and was promoted to General Manager in 1992.

Matthew Boos has been a champion of affordable telecommunications services for rural Americans at the state and national levels since 1993: 

• At California Communications Association (CalCom, Sacramento, California) – The state trade organization for small, mid-size and large local exchange companies in California, Boos presides as a CalCom Director since 2009, and a Member of the Small Company Committee; He is a distinguished Past President 1996-1999, Past Officer 1994-1996, and Past Director 1993-2002.

• At USTelecom (Washington, DC) – The national trade organization representing more than 1,000 telecommunications industry companies, Boos is a Past Director from 2000 to 2003.

Previous to his positions with Ponderosa, Boos was a senior telecom consultant with GVNW Consulting in Oregon and also held several management positions with Continental Telephone in Bakersfield, California. 

Matthew Boos received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Fresno in 1977. He resides in Fresno with his wife, Karen, and they have two adult children.
